#WOTRLIVE After winning the Battle of Blore Heath, the Yorkist factions regrouped at Ludford Bridge in the town of Ludlow and started to advance towards Worcester. They quickly fell back when they encountered a larger enemy force led by Henry VI. The Lancastrians took up position opposite the Yorkists across the River Teme. That night a significant amount of the Yorkist army deserted, which led to a full scale retreat the next morning. York 2 Lancaster 1

#WOTRLIVE After four years of uneasy peace, in 1459, the Wars of the Roses flared up again at the Battle of Bloor Heath. Over the past three years, Margaret of Anjou maintained the pressure on ending the York throne. Finally, Richard, Duke of York decided it was time to act before his forces lost complete momentum. However, during the Lancastrian march, Richard was intercepted by the Lancastrians. The Battle was fought and the Yorkists won a major victory, with the death of Lord Audley of Lancaster. The year is 1455 and the First Battle of St Alban's has begun. Richard, Duke of York leads a force of 3,000 on a march towards London. Henry VI's Lancastrian troops moved from London to intercept the Yorkist army but the King's army halted in the town of St Albans and waited. The people of St Albans along with some of the King's men set up defensive barricades. After about two hours, the Yorkists overran the defenses and flowed into the town. York 1 Lancaster 0

Commemorations of the First World War have been taking place in Warwick since 1919 and were often orchestrated by the Earls of Warwick. In the 1920s Elfrida, 6th Countess of Warwick led the commemorations of the armistice with survivors of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment alongside her brother, MP Anthony Eden. It was noted in Eden's diaries that she would cry after the armistice parades over those that did not return from the front line. We will remember them.
